Timeless White & Light Blue Florals for K & B's Late Summer Beach Wedding

K & B held their late August wedding at the Lakeview by Carmens. Their outdoor ceremony was held on the beach, followed by an indoor reception on the upper level of the Lakeview. They could not have asked for more beautiful weather!

Their floral colour palette included mainly white florals (hydrangea, roses, dahlia, lisianthus, ranunculus, and baby's breath) with accents of light blue florals (tweedia, delphinium). Minimal greenery was included throughout the wedding party/personal flowers, and a base/accents of greenery were used throughout the ceremony and reception florals designs.

Wedding party/personal flowers were floral focused in design (floral dominant design, with small, subtle pops of greenery incorporated mainly lower in the design) in a mixed garden/airy design style (a semi structured, but still natural design style with whimsical blooms added to float above the base floral design and create depth and movement). Wedding party/personal flowers included a bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, classic boutonnieres for the groom/groomsmen/family members, wrist corsages, toss rose petals for the flower girl, and mini boutonnieres. The hand-tied bridal bouquet was designed in a semi rounded but still asymmetric shape with moderate structure. Dahlias were a personal favourite of the bride, and were heavily featured in the bridal bouquet. The petite, hand tied bridesmaids bouquets were designed as smaller versions of bridal bouquet, using the same floral mix (just featuring slightly less light blue florals) and style.

The ceremony and reception florals were balanced in design (florals were the main feature of the designs, with accents of greenery incorporated and visible throughout) in a mixed garden/airy design style (a semi structured, but still natural design style with whimsical blooms added to float above the base floral design and create depth and movement). For the ceremony, greenery + flowers were added to a broken arch base (broken arch provided by the Lakeview) that was the backdrop of the beach ceremony. Greenery formed the base of the design, and was added in a continuous, winding manner to the arch. The greenery provided medium coverage of the arch (greenery was dense in some areas and thin in others with some portions of the arch frame left visible/not covered). A mix of both white and light blue theme florals were added throughout this base of greenery, in a natural, organic way. Two accent arrangements, designed to compliment the style of the broken arch florals, were placed on the ground at the entrance to the ceremony aisle.

After the ceremony ended, the ceremony florals were moved inside and repurposed at the reception. The greenery + florals were removed from the broken arch and most were repurposed along the head table top for a look similar to a low, unstructured garland. Some of the arch florals were also repurposed by the seating chart at the entrance to the reception room. The bridal and bridesmaids bouquets were placed in vases along the head table for an added pop of florals. The accent ceremony arrangements were placed on the ground in front of either end of the head table. The only additional florals added onto the reception design (not repurposed from the ceremony) were clusters of greenery which were added to each guest table, and to accent the welcome table, cake table, and bar sign.

Congratulations to K & B, it was a pleasure to create this timeless white + light blue wedding floral design for you!
