Julia & Camden

Wedding Date: October 2020

I'm so happy that Julia & Cam were able to get married on their original date!

2020 was a difficult year for so many engaged couples, with so many unknowns and last minute plan changes. Many were left wondering up until the week of their wedding if they would be able to go ahead with their wedding day as planned. Julia, being the experienced event planner that she is, took everything the year had to throw at her in stride. She managed to flawlessly navigate all the extra challenges having a wedding in 2020 brought. With strength and composure this couple had the day come together beautifully, though differently than originally planned.

It's difficult not to mention the pandemic in relation to weddings that took place in 2020. But I would also like to take the time to celebrate that this wedding was able to safely go ahead, and this couple were ultimately able to have their wedding on they day they had originally planned.

Wedding Party Flowers

This wedding took place in October, so for Julia's bridal bouquet we used a mix of seasonal flowers such as amaranthus, leucadendron, and hypericum berries along with some luxe flowers including cymbidium orchids, quicksand and amnesia roses, and brunia berries. A touch of thistle, Italian ruscus, seeded eucalyptus, and lisianthus were the finishing touches in bringing the bouquet together. The overall colour scheme of burgundy, white, and muted pink, with a touch of dusty purple and silver, suited the season as well as the bride's personal style. Navy satin ribbon kept long was the finishing touch, to compliment the burgundy flowers in the bouquet as well as the navy bridesmaids dresses.

The bridesmaids bouquets were a smaller version of the bridal bouquet, using the same mix of flowers except for the hanging amaranthus. The autumnal colours stood out beautifully against their navy dresses.

The grooms boutonnière featured a quicksand rose with a touch of waxflower, berries, thistle and greens, while the groomsmen had a mix of lisianthus blooms, berries, thistle, and greens. All were wrapped with twine.

Reception Flowers

The cake featured bunches of blooms on each tier that matched the florals used for the wedding party. The florals on each guest table were kept simple, acting mainly to bring the different elements of the table decor together. Each guest table featured a circular floral garland of lush greens with pink spray roses, wax flower, burgundy mums and hypericum berries throughout. They were woven around the votive and candelabra centrepieces on each table. A garland was also arranged on each of the three head tables, woven between votives placed at the front of the table.

Wishing this couple the happiest future together!
